Task lists, conversation notes and milestones: New competence development tools on the Vuolearning platform

We have recently launched several new tools on the Vuolearning platform! These tools are created to support organizational competence development and management even more comprehensively than before.

The new tools are called task lists, conversation notes and milestones. Using these tools will help you easily bring together several forms of learning.

Task lists

With task lists, it is easy to take care that all planned tasks will be taken care of. This tool will help organizations make their practices and processed more equal and structured, and make sure that no important tasks are forgotten.

In practice, task lists are lists of tasks, that can easily be marked as done. On each task, the platform records information about who has marked it done and when. Thus, the task list tool can easily replace to do lists and forms on paper.

Task lists can be used for example...

  • as a to do list for onboarding
  • to introduce the use of a new system or sotfware
  • to support starting with a new customer
  • to remind about important things to take care of when an employee is leaving.

Conversation notes

The conversation notes tool will help you create templates for conversations and record notes about conversations.

In practice, this tool allows you to save a list of questions in the Vuolearning platform, and later save answers to these questions.  In addition to the admin who saves the notes, the notes will be visible to the user who the notes are related to, all superadmins, and the user's supervisors.

The conversation templates can be utilized in many different internal and external situations, for example...

  • taking notes in a goal-setting discussion
  • in a feedback discussion after one month of employment
  • saving thoughts and ideas in a brainstorming session
  • doing regular checkups in a certain topic.

The conversation notes tool makes it easy to return to the notes of a discussion later, for example in the next similar discussion. The tool also helps to steer the organisation towards a more coherent guidance culture, where discussions and coaching are systematic and structured.

Milestones

The milestones tool will help recognize and identify competence through the milestones and accomplishments in everyday worklife. With this tool, you can add information about achievements to users' profiles. This helps make development more visible, and give recognition for succeeding. Milestones is an excellent tool for supervisors that they can use to make their employees' achievements seen.

Here are some examples of events that could be recorded as milestones:

  • first deal or customer
  • new record in sales or projects
  • an excellent customer review
  • accomplishing team goals
  • implementation of new software in the organization

The milestones will be visible in the user's renewed profile page as a timeline. Also the user's completed courses and other accomplishments will be visible in the timeline.
